Owning a Spitfire

After Purchasing an HFL Spitfire

Conversion to Type

For pilots with at least 100 hrs tail wheel experience, HFL can provide conversion to type using the Harvard T6. It can also arrange for basic ‘ab initio’ flying training on the Chipmunk and T6.

Export

HFL will dismantle and containerise the aircraft before freighting to the destination.

Aircraft Reassembly/Testing

HFL will reassemble and commission the aircraft following shipping. This will include full Ground and Flight Testing prior to hand-over.

Maintenance Training

HFL can carry out full Maintenance Training for a client’s nominated Ground Engineer. This training will cover all First Line requirements and will be supported by ongoing advice and guidance as necessary.

Alternatively

HFL can arrange for the aircraft to be hangared, maintained and operated in the UK. Operational opportunities, such as film and display work, provide the double benefit of ensuring the aircraft is maintained in current flying condition and generating income to be offset against the annual maintenance costs. In addition, the aircraft will maintain its presence in the public eye as a vital contributor to the Allied war effort, and an aircraft loved by those who flew her, during World War II.
